We are currently accepting applications for Program Manager at Camp Lambec as well as other seasonal positions. We look forward to receiving your application! Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in summer employment and service with CAPNWP at Camp Lambec and/or Westminster Highlands! We’re pleased that you’re interested and hope you’ll apply very soon. Our guests & campers, the Board of Directors and year-round staff are eager to fill these summer positions as soon as possible. Applications are being accepted now, interviews start soon and hiring happens later this winter and early spring. Even if you’re unsure about your summer plans, it is to your advantage to apply now so that you don’t loose out. Please apply as soon as possible! Please also review the 2010 Summer Brochure and the Job Descriptions listed at the "Read More" link. If you have any questions, please contact a CAPNWP representative by phone or email. The application and interview process is as follows. 1] Complete, sign and mail1 your Application Form directly to CAPNWP at the address above, including photocopies of your skills and training licenses, certificates and other documentation. 2] Fill in the blank lines on page 1 of three Reference Forms and give one each to your three references. Have them mail1 their Reference Form directly back to CAPNWP quickly.2 3] Once your completed Application Form is received, you’ll be contacted for an intake interview, possibly on the phone. 4] A second, in-person interview could then take place after the intake interview. If distance is a concern, this interview may be on the phone. 5] After your second interview, the Human Resources Committee and the appropriate summer staff leader will consider your application and make a decision as soon as possible. 6] If selected, you’ll be informed by phone or email. If you verbally accept summer employment, you will then be mailed a written Employment Agreement and other papers that must be completed, signed and returned by specific dates.

Job Descriptions
Here is our staff community and team… or rather, teams. Please review the general responsibilities we each have so that we can work and serve together smoothly and professionally. See the CAPNWP Organization Charts for additional clarification. PLEASE NOTE: The following are only summaries of job descriptions. The complete ones are each one-two pages long. All the Managers have copies of the complete job descriptions. Rather than rely on the following summaries, each summer staff member should become thoroughly familiar with her/his individual Job Description(s). Most non-Leadership Team positions, except Program Coordinator, can be filled by a short-tem volunteer. Abbreviations: ACA = American Camp Association LT = Leadership Team VOL = Volunteer, usually for one session
Activity Specialist – Adventure/Ropes, Crafts, Archery, Nature, Bicycling OR Other Activity Highlands and Lambec (could be VOL) - formerly titled “Program Specialist” The Activity Specialist directly plans, manages and implements all aspects of a specific camp activity during the operational summer season as directed by the Program Manager. These activities may include Adventure/Ropes Courses, Crafts, Archery, Nature, Bicycling or another identified special activity. The Activity Specialist serves in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Business Aide Lambec The Business Aide handles the business and financial matters during the operational summer season, excluding maintenance-related matters, as directed by the Staff & Hospitality Manager. These responsibilities include camp communications, processing of invoices and receipts, managing the Camp Store and organizing administrative and selected program-related activities. The Business Aide performs in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Business Aide Highlands The Business Aide handles the business and financial matters during the operational summer season, excluding maintenance-related matters, as directed by the Program Manager. These responsibilities include camp communications, processing of invoices and receipts, managing the Camp Store and organizing administrative and selected program-related activities. The Business Aide performs in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Chaplain (VOL) Lambec and Highlands The Chaplain usually serves as the spiritual counselor and worship facilitator for a given program(s) in cooperation and consultation with the program leader(s).
CDL Driver Highlands The Driver safely transports campers, staff and volunteers in either a CAPNWP vehicle or rented vehicle for activities as directed by the Program Manager. The Driver monitors, checks and reports vehicle condition and needed maintenance to the Site & Facilities Manager in a timely, prescribed manner. The Driver serves in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Food Service Aide Highlands - formerly titled “Cook” and “Kitchen Aide” The Food Service Aide assists the Food Service Coordinator as directed in food preparation, storage and service and kitchen and dining hall sanitation in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Food Service Coordinator (LT) Highlands - formerly titled “Kitchen Manager” The Food Service Coordinator directly plans, administers, manages and implements all aspects of food service, including menu-development, purchasing, food preparation, kitchen and dining hall sanitation, service, special diets and food service staff supervision. The Food Service Coordinator does so as directed by the Executive Director in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Head Lifeguard Lambec The Head Lifeguard organizes and administers swimming and watercraft use, provides for aquatic safety and supervises the lifeguard staff and waterfront spotters as directed by the Staff & Hospitality Manager in consultation with the Site & Facilities Manager. The Head Lifeguard operates all aquatic activities in good order and in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Health Coordinator / Nurse (LT) Highlands and Lambec - formerly titled “Camp Health Supervisor” The Health Coordinator/Nurse supervises and coordinates all aspects of the health and safety of the campers, staff and volunteers as directed by his/her respective Manager noted above and the Executive Director. The Health Coordinator/ Nurse serves and in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania, the standards of the ACA and the Standing Orders of the Camp Physician.
Lifeguard Highlands and Lambec The Lifeguard assists the Head Lifeguard in to organize and administer swimming and watercraft use, and enforcing aquatic safety procedures as directed by the Summer Resident Manager in consultation with the Site & Facilities Manager. The Lifeguard operates all aquatic activities in good order and in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the American Camp Association.
Maintenance Maverick Lambec - formerly titled “Support Staff /Maintenance Assistant” The Maintenance Maverick assists the Site & Facilities Manager as directed so as to keep the site and facilities in a clean, safe and attractive condition, in good order and in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the American Camp Association. The Maintenance Maverick also assists with selected camper activities and other non-maintenance functions as requested by the Staff & Hospitality Manager.

Program Coordinator (LT) Lambec-(VOL) and Highlands - formerly titled “Program Director” The Program Coordinator directly plans, administers, manages and implements all aspects of specified camp programs (sessions) and their activities during the operational summer season as directed by the Program Manager. The Program Coordinator serves in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Program Counselor Highlands and Lambec-(VOL) - formerly titled “Support Staff /Program Counselor” The Program Counselor provides direct program & activity leadership and supervision of campers in his/her assigned program sessions, including both living groups (residences) and activity groups. The Program Counselor does so as directed by his/her Program Coordinator and the Program Manager and in accord with CAPNWP mission & goals, the laws of Pennsylvania and the standards of the ACA.
Program Manager (LT) Highlands - formerly titled “Summer Resident Director” The Program Manager provides spiritual, programmatic and administrative leadership to the whole camp community; leads, oversees and coordinates the planning, implementation and review of all program activities; as the on-site representative of the Executive Director, cooperatively hires, trains, supervises and trains summer staff and volunteers; builds team ministry relationships with the Highlands Site & Facilities Manager; and oversees camp business functions related to program. The Program Manager operates Highlands program activities and personnel in compliance with the mission and goals of CAPNWP, the standards of the ACA and state and local regulations.
Staff & Hospitality Manager (LT) Lambec - formerly titled “Summer Resident Director” The Staff & Hospitality Manager provides spiritual, programmatic and administrative leadership to the whole camp community; oversees the planning, implementation and review of all program activities; as the on-site representative of the Executive Director, cooperatively hires, trains and supervises summer staff and volunteers; builds team ministry relationships with the Lambec Site & Facilities Manager and Volunteer Program Chaplains and Program Coordinators; and oversees camp business functions related to program.
